The Fall/Winter market season will be here before The Fall/Winter market season will be here before we know it! So here are my top tips for saving time (and brain power!) while market prepping: 1. Do everything in batches - a. Knit/crochet in batches - that means if you’re working on hats in various sizes, make a bunch of them, one size at a time i.e. do 10 baby sized hats, then 10 toddler size, etc. This allows you (and your brain) to stay on one pattern at a time which will save brain power and time b. Weave in your ends and add tags in batches - Moving from one thing to another takes time and effort, instead make it an assembly line. You made 50 baby sized hats, great! Don’t weave in the ends after each hat is finished, save them all and weave in all of the ends one after the other. Then tag then all as a group. This way there’s no jumping between tools and no confusion about what piece is what size or price, it’s all the same! 2. Keep your makes organized - have different designated storage bins for the different pieces that you make. I like plastic tubs for my baskets and scarves and structured fabric organizers for my hats. All my baby sized hats are always together and all of my adult sized hats are too, just in a different bin. This makes market setup a breeze because I a) know where everything is and b) all the same pieces are together so I don’t have to hunt through 10 different tubs to get all of my baskets out. 3. Label/write down everything - What hook size do you use for what size basket? Did you make any modifications to the pattern you’re working on? What pieces are in what bin(s)? How many cozies do you have in stock? In what colors? Are your item listings in your POS system that detailed? Or are you playing a guessing game between markets as to what you should restock?The more that you can write everything down in a logical order, in a place that makes sense for you, the better off you will be when market day comes and goes. I sincerely hope these tips help! If you’ve ever tried to weave in @yarnspirations Bernat Maker, you’ll know the pain of trying to pull your needle through the yarn with just your fingers. I picked up my pliers one day and instantly knew I’d never go back! Not only does it save my fingers but it also ensures minimal damage/disruption to the yarn as you pull your needle through it. Hi Friends! If you saw my stories yesterday, you k Hi Friends! If you saw my stories yesterday, you know that a) it's been a minute since I've showed up on this app and that has been for a variety of reasons that I won't really get into now because it's not what is relevant.. and b) that my beloved George had to have emergency surgery on her abdomen on Tuesday night because she got herself into a pickle and ate some things that she shouldn't have... again. . George is my heart dog. She's me as a dog. She has been there for so many milestones with me, and because I wasn't ready to lose her, we did surgery. Swipe if you want to read her story. Make no mistake, if we hadn't done surgery Tuesday night, George wouldn't be here today. I am so insanely lucky to have my cousin and his wife as my vets. They have continually gone over and above for George and she wouldn't be here today if it hadn't been for them, But, just because they’re family doesn't mean that they can afford to do something like this for free, and I would never think of asking for that. So now I have a pretty hefty vet bill to pay - which I want to make clear was 100% my choice and is 100% my responsibility. . As I was trying to figure out how I was going to pay for said surgery (because I don't have that kind of money just hanging around...) I figured it wouldn't hurt to put my patterns on sale and let all of you lovely people know in case you've had your eye on one pattern or another and want to snag it at a discount. 100% of the money I bring in through this sale will go to helping fund George's surgery. .
